Description
From old to new! The upgrade for your grill with the perfect replacement grill grate. A stainless steel grill grate stands out for its durability, strength, and long lifespan.
Each grill grate is custom‑made to order with millimetre precision and handcrafted. Thanks to state‑of‑the‑art laser technology used for drilling the rod holes, all grill rods align perfectly within the two square profiles.
Solid flat bars are mounted on the sides. Due to their high material thickness, they offer the same stability as a comparable square profile. This slimmer construction maximises the usable grilling surface. Especially with multi‑part grill grates, the joints between two grate sections consist only of the two very slim flat bars.
We use only high‑quality, rust‑resistant 1.4301 stainless steel. All edges are carefully deburred—partly by hand and partly using vibratory finishing—to ensure complete burr‑free surfaces. All welds are hand‑ground or brushed without the use of chemicals.
The agony of choice – which grate is the right one?
The rod diameter affects both the stability and heat retention of the grate.
The thicker the rods, the more heat they store and the stronger the branding on your food. An 8 mm rod has nearly double the material volume of a 6 mm rod, and a 10 mm rod has triple the volume. The strongest branding is achieved with our “SQUARE RODS” model due to the high material volume and larger contact surface.
Thicker rods also increase the overall stability of the grate. We recommend at least 8 mm rods, especially for spans over 500 mm.
The clear spacing is the smallest distance between the individual grill rods.
The smaller the spacing, the more rods—and therefore more heat‑retaining material—are built into your grate.
A smaller spacing also reduces the risk of food falling through the grate.
Fixed or detachable? A detachable grate offers significant advantages when cleaning. By opening the frame via screws, all rods can be removed, allowing easy cleaning of the rods and access to the inner surfaces of the frame. With our “SCHIEBEFIX” model, the rods can be removed even more easily—simply release a single latch and lift them straight out.
One‑piece or multi‑piece? A multi‑piece grate offers greater flexibility. You can combine your grill grate with a custom‑made plancha or wok insert and swap them as needed. Smaller grate sections are also easier to handle. Additionally, a grate can be ordered with equal width and depth, creating a square grate that allows you to change the rod orientation as desired.
